Link Comparison

I wanted to show a comparison of how much I've improved, so I hunted down the oldest drawing that I have and drew the same subject again. Here's the comparison image, complete with detail shots (I'm rather proud of how horrible the '00 hands look).

The image on the left was done in 2000 upon my excitement from buying Ocarina of Time (using the game manual as a reference), and the image on the right was done in 2008 [link] .

One may think: "Gee, if it took her eight years to improve that much, I'm not going to bother." DON'T! This is not eight years of work, trust me! It's about two. Between '00 and '07 I drew every now and then, but not very often, and not very seriously. I went through an "anime/manga" phase, but I really didn't improve so much. I probably learned a little bit, I'll admit, but I didn't improve incredibly.

Last year (a month or two before I joined Deviant Art), I finally started drawing seriously. Most of my improvement has been out of sheer will. "I will NOT draw badly anymore."

So that's it. I think I've improved a bit, don't you? (Note: if you say "no," you are either blind, sarcastic, or my mortal enemy).
