I've finished enough tutorials to set that aside for now (maybe I'll get around to some painting process tutorials eventually). Here are the new matting and framing tutorials!
carlotta4th.deviantart.com/gal…They. Took. FOREVER.
Anyway, now I can finally get back to creating art. First, I plan on doing a few studies of some various artists just so I can get some more experience with oil paints... I still consider myself inexperienced with oil, and I have yet to paint many simple things like a human being (if can that be called simple). So creating studies should help. I also plan on gilding a frame for the first time. The finished frame probably won't be posted here since it'll just be a boring old frame, but the process of gilding was covered in my framing tutorial if you're interested in learning how to do it (did I mention those tutorials took forever? Check them out!).
Lastly: One of my eggs got into a museum exhibition lately, but I was so last-minute and rushed when submitting it that I had to think up a price for it on the spot... and I foolishly, VASTLY underpriced the thing. So now I'm hoping no-one will buy it because I would have priced it twice as much as it's listed it for (I completely forgot the material costs and time spent creating the glass cases. Bah! How foolish!) Moral of the story is this: Know how much you want to charge for your piece before you get to the museum. (I also hope no-one buys it because I want to secure the ring more carefully and varnish it after a few more months. Why on earth did I ever put a price on that thing?! I don't think well when I'm flustered and pushing the clock!). Yeah. So don't do that.
Post-lastly: I got my order of Niroot Puttapipat's book, "Aladdin" in the mail and I am very happy. I've been eyeing his works for quite a while now, and it's wonderful to finally have one of his books.
